Great news for fans of underground punk, hardcore, indie, or alt-country music! THE FEST is back this year from October 28th-30th and is holding one of the biggest underground music festivals in multiple venues in Gainesville, Florida!
To celebrate their 15th anniversary, THE FEST is reuniting their favorite bands and inviting back some alumni bands from the past, so expect FEST 15 to be bigger than ever. Just look at their awesome lineup - 370 bands from all over the country, Canada, France, Mexico, England, Scotland, Germany, Panama, Australia, and even Japan and Singapore! (See complete list here) Among them, of course, are Gainesville natives including Dikembe, Coffee Project, and Cut It Out.
With support from No Idea Records and working closely with The City of Gainesville, FL, THE FEST will return to the newly renovated Bo Diddley Plaza in the heart of historic Gainesville, in addition to 22 other venues. This will allow for even more attendees to enjoy the music, as well as give THE FEST the opportunity to expand.
Just how big was THE FEST? Last year, with 388 musical acts over the course of three days at 20 venues, it attracted as many as 24,585 wristband holders, 85% of which were not from Florida. This year, with the BIG PRE-FEST 4 that will be held in Tampa on October 26th and 27th in addition to THE FEST 15, be prepared to see a groundbreaking number of attendees! As if all this still isn't fun enough, THE FEST is also hosting the Fest Flea Market that will be set up in a trade-show fashion, and feature tattoo studios, design companies, clothing lines, as well as charities and non-profits.
